How It Works

Undercover Systems is a modular designed roof system that is applied on the underside of the deck. The roof/ceiling system consists of integrated gutters and ceiling panels that collect all water and debris from the system, then channel it from the ceiling panels to a gutter system that exits the water and debris through downspouts.

Design

The ‘flat panel’ ceiling design is patented, and spans between engineered load bearing gutters that will be attached to the inside of the perimeter. The components are custom manufactured at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for each deck.

How is the Ceiling Installed?

The ceiling is first attached using number eight galvanized screws and a 3/16 “Tapcon” fasteners. The structurally engineered load bearing gutter system will be attached to the inside of the perimeter. The stream lined gutter system is carefully and precisely attached along the house, the front of the deck and the sides of the deck. None of the system is attached to the floor joists of the deck. We install wood to the sides of the deck for our system installation. This will give plenty of area to provide air flow and ventilation, which provides for quick drying, so the outdoor living space is kept dry year-round. The gutter bracket supports are then installed 24 inches on the center where needed and required.

Again, no part of the underdeck system is attached to the underside of the deck, as all the installation is done below the existing deck and the deck boards. The installers will maintain a 4-7 inch space between the top of our custom manufactured ceiling and the bottom of the deck. Doing this will ensure that the deck will not be damaged during or after the installation process.

The top edge of the gutter system is sealed, so no water will get behind the ceiling panels. Our professional installers then place the interlocking pre-cut panels on the top of the gutter system one after another until the panels are installed. Once all the pre-cut panels are installed, our professional installers will clean up the job site, and homeowners can now start enjoying their new outdoor living space.
